celynwales.org is the website for Celyn - a new publication that promises to be green, red ... and a bit spiky!
The magazine is a bi-monthly green left review of Welsh and international politics. The first edition was published during the first week in May 2009 to coincide with the 10th anniversary of the first Assembly elections. Celyn aims to provide a non-sectarian vehicle for ideas and debate and to move beyond the party tribalism that is so deeply rooted in Welsh politics. Our only 'bottom lines' are to be green, socialist, anti-fascist, anti discrimination, egalitarian, pro worker, pro Welsh lanuage and committed to the extension of devolution.
A couple of the most exciting articles in the current issue will be available online as a taster - for the rest, you'll have to subscribe! This website will also host an archive of articles as older issues are superseded. The main purpose of the site is to be a space for interaction and feedback, not only for Celyn, but as a forum for discussion and ideas that we feel the Welsh left to be lacking. It is also hoped that the online discussion will grow into articles as and when debate is focused.
If you feel that you have an idea worth discussing or an opinion to give in the form of an article, and you want to take it beyond the forum, please contact the Editorial Board via the contact form and tell us all about it so that we can get it published.
